Speaking at a Mobile Marketing & Advertising event in Las Vegas to coincide with CTIA Wireless 2010, Diana Pouliot – director of mobile advertising at Google – revealed that one-third of all Google searches via the mobile web pertain to some aspect of the searcher’s local environment.
This clearly demonstrates that mobile marketing is a key factor in website deployment.
As an iPhone user I am constantly online and able to simply and quickly search for local restaurants, shops and services and get directions and maps. This convenience means that next time I need a local service I know where to look...my iPhone!
